This course exposed me to several aspects of photography including fashion, weddings, portraiture, glamour, architecture and many others. Upon completion of the course, I began exploring further the field of portraiture and weddings and dabbled a bit in landscape photography.
Not too long after I graduated, the opportunity came to take part in a regional competition organized by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) to capture the essence of the Caribbean individual, under the theme, "The People of the Caribbean." I entered the competition with two pieces and both of my pieces were successful in gaining recognition. One piece won "Best Black and White Image", overall, which depicted an elderly woman, seated at her door smoking her pipe. The other won "Best in Island- Saint Lucia." This success made me extremely proud and made me more confident in my photography journey.
